Blood in stools

Hi I was diagnosed with h.pylori few months back. Had treatment and tested again and was still positive. I’ve had really bad stomach noises for the past 2-3 months and bad gas. Today I went toilet and was blood in my stools, I am so scared, I am 41 and thinking the worst.

There are many explanations to finding some blood in your stool, including having piles and inflammation and though difficult, try not to jump to conclusions. Your symptoms of bad gas and noises in your stomach may well be still due to the infection of helicobacter and hopefully you are receiving more treatment for this.

Do get back to your doctor regarding the blood as they will need to know. Further tests if necessary can then be done after they have taken a history and possibly examined you as well.

Try and not let your thoughts run away with you and take each step at a time.

Hi Wanda

Thank you for your advice, I went to see my go again yesterday, she has booked me in for another blood test(a totally different one from before) also another stool test and referral for CT Scan. The doctor also examined my stomach. Fingers crossed that nothing to serious, it’s the 1st thought before I sleep and the 1st thought when I wake up. It’s actually making me depressed all the worry so will let you know how it all goes.
