Manoj,
Thanks for the reference.
Wow! Awesome list. I just set up my Analytics account and still haven’t figured out how to filter out my own IP address.

Nice list of tips 🙂 It seems like most site owners or webmasters have analytics on their website but very few are aware of the full range of features it provides, such as IP filter. In many cases, a significant amount of visits to a website may be from the site owner or staff members. The IP filter can be used to ensure that these clicks are not included in reports.

Thank you for sharing. Very helpful link for me was “Know What Your Customers Want”.
Hey this has been a great help, thanks! I already use the IP filtering because it ensures much better, more accurate statistics.. Google sure provides a lot of great stuff for free lately, but you’ve got to wonder whether they use info from analytics against you to help determine any adwords qualityscore you get (eg. like if you’re getting a poor stick rate).. This is interesting, but still- even if they do stuff like this, it would seem they do not weight it too highly when determining QS..
I’ve just started a service where I create ebook art for marketers, and analytics is proving very easy and useful, so I’ll be continuing to use it!
Just a question here, is it possible to filter the traffics form social sites like digg, stumble upon?

Hi Manoj,
Any idea on how to create a filter to remove AdWords “(content targeting)” bounce rates from my reports.
My content targeting bounce rates are very high, but at .05 a click, who cares. I am running ads on the content network for brand exposure only.
The high bounce rates are affecting my TRUE bounce rates and was hoping someone out there knew a quick fix.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
Aaron

Just a quick one, I have been using analytics for quite sometimes and applied a couple of filters to filter out my traffic. However it just that recently I realized that the filter is not working anymore, any suggestion why? I checked my IP address, proxy and direct, thousand of times and confirmed the IP address against the filter but to no avail.
This is a nice article by the way, very intensive!
Hello, could you give me a hint on how to set up a filter that converts all traffic that searched for my domain name to direct traffic?
For example, if someone searches for “mydomain” on Google and comes to my website, I want such visit to be counted as direct traffic not search traffic.
