Hi Sis .

I had chemo 5 years ago for prostate cancer gone to lymph nodes spine ribs pelvis and a lung.  PSA kept going down for two years then slowly started rising for two years then took a jump and I was put on Enzalutamide begin of last year PSA has gone down since.hope things go smoothly with treatment.

Hi Billy

thanks for response and glad to hear you are doing okay. My worry is that my husband is missing out by not having Chemo. I don’t fully understand if Enzalutamide kills cancer cells in the same way Chemo does.  But we were told this is “gold standard treatment”. I wasn’t initially concerned, in fact we were relieved. But the reason given for no Chemo was Covid. Then I joined here and seen others are still having Chemo despite Covid.

Our next consultation is not until 1 April. So I can ask then.

Can I ask what your PSA was when first diagnosed

Hi Sis.

My first PSA was 1581  Enzalutamide actually stops the male hormone that the cancer feeds on .

I know it sounds strange but its actually the medicine that they give to men who want a sex change good point I only have to shave my face once a week now .no other changes I was warned that my BP could go up and to keep a check on it.

Remember take care of yourself.

Hope hubby is still mobile

Billy
