Hi
I’ve just had my first chemo Tuesday just gone 1 of 6 , feeling very up and down emotionally ,fatigue ,sickness is it normal to be like a yo yo !! Is this going to get worse ?

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you’re getting on OK – it is of course natural to experience a range of emotions. We have some information on our website here about FEC-T treatment and side effects.
There is also another discussion on Cancer Chat here about it, which may be useful – although it is a few years old now.
Hopefully some of that is helpful, and I hope you get on OK with the treatment. Do continue to use this forum as much as is helpful for you.

Hi there,
Im with you there. I had my first FEC chemo on 10th Feb.
The first couple of days weren’t too bad then the side effects really kicked in. Temperature up and down, felt like I had the flu or hangover and nausea, no appetite. I think the 1st one is really scary as not knowing what to expect. I’m now into my 2nd week and feeling so much better and appetite returning. . I phoned the Oncology nurses at my worse a few times and they couldn’t be nicer. Next cycle I think will be easier to manage as I’ve written down all my symptons.
Im with you, we’ll get through this and get rid of all those nasty cancer cells.
