Hi,

So I have a small lump in my right breast, found in December 2020, I went to the doctors and breast clinic everything normal in Jan 2021. I’ve been getting pain in it and swelling recently been to the doctors twice and they said they have no serious cause for concern. I’m taking Naproxin to see if there is internal swelling that is causing the pain. If no better in 3 weeks I’ll be referred back to the breast clinic for further advice.
I feel like my head is spinning – constantly have that what if running through my head. I know it will be what it will be but to be given the all clear in January I feel like I shouldn’t be too worried – doctor said my glands were all fine and they couldn’t feel anything distressing and I told them where it hurt etc.

I’m on here today to find some comfort from someone who may have gone through something similar. My great grandma on my mother’s side died of breast cancer – she chose to give birth to my grandma than receive treatment. I don’t feel like it is cancer related but at the minute it is always on my mind.

Thank you x

Hi Emz96,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling and I know the uncertainty is always difficult.

It sounds as if you have had some reassurance so far, in terms of the results in January and the fact the doctor doesn’t seem too concerned. It’s good to hear that there is a plan in place in terms of next steps and the referral if needs be.

In the meantime, and I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry and try to keep your mind off it by keeping busy.

Meanwhile if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they’ll be along soon.

Wishing you all the best,

Ben
