I did try your simple test to see if baking powder is still active. Spoon of powder in hot water, the test works! My baking powder is 1 1/2 years past the best by date of 10/19. Good to know we don’t have to throw it out as soon as it reaches that date. Thanks,God Bless and stay safe…
Unopened baking powder has been shown to last up to 30 years.
