Improper hygiene can lead to various significant diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describes common hygiene-related health conditions, including athlete’s foot, dental infection, lice, ringworm, and food poisoning. Some of these are linked to improperly cleaned clothing, bedding, and other household items. Others are caused by poor personal hygiene. Patients may be reluctant to discuss these conditions and may be unaware of the role that certain hygienic practices can have in preventing and treating them.

Can you recognize common hygiene-related disease presentations and correctly answer questions about best practices for management? Test your knowledge of these potentially serious conditions with this short quiz.
