Hi, I’m 16 years of age and maybe a month ago i started getting discomfort in my groin. after a day it got a little worse and after few day the discomfort went away. As I’m typing this there is still a painless marble sized soft lump on top of my right testicle. It doesn’t hurt but it can give me a funny feeling. Now and then I’d get some weird feeling down there but nothing too bad like pain. Since it’s on top i think it’s something to do with my epididymis. But also there’s always a scare of cancer so I wanted to ask about any info. Does is sound serious?

Hi drayne10.  Welcome to the forum, and sorry about the delay in replying.

I’m not a doctor, but I have been issued with the same set of equipment as you.

I agree this is probably some swelling in the epididymis or possibly the scrotum, and it’s probably harmless. Testicular cancer is rare, but this is something where you don’t want to take any chances.  You really should get it checked out by a GP. Don’t leave it; get checked.

Hey, thank you very much for the response. To add on I’d get some sort of ache in my abdomen while lying down. I can feel it now as I’m lying in bed. Could that mean anything? Also in my right leg I’d get a funny feeling too but barely anything, almost can’t feel it. It may be just in my head haha. Thank you for the answer once again.

There are many possible reasons for an ache in the abdomen, and only a doctor can say whether it has anything to do with your testicle issue.

I suggest you contact your GP and tell him/her about all your symptoms.  The GP may want you to go for an ultrasound scan – that’s pretty common when it comes to testicular lumps and pains.  Don’t be alarmed if you get referred; testicular cancer is rare and most testicular lumps turn out to be harmless.
