Hiya,
I’ve received my smear test results which say borderline changes to squamous cells and high risk HPV. I’ve been looking on forums and they’ve reassured that this result isn’t too bad. But I’m a bit worried because I’ve been referred to colposcopy and my appointment date is a week from when I received it. I’ve been reading online that they only refer you within that time frame if they’re worried. Should I be worried? I’m getting so anxious to the point where I’m panicking. And I know I shouldn’t google but on the forum, someone mentioned it and then when I looked the hospital info they’re only seeing people that need to be urgently seen. And I found a form online to do with cancer.
Can someone please reassure what these results means and why am I being referred to them so fast?
I’m really scared.
Also I’m supposed to be on my period when my appointment is due, do I wait until I’m finished or should I go given how fast they’ve given me an appointment? I just am a bit embarrassed about period blood and smell etc.
Please help.
