Hi .

Recently i have noticed  very sharp pain in my left nipple .. and around it. And its painful to touch or squeeze . It is red aswel. Plus my breast feels heavy . And noticed the the nipple have changed slightly.  I dont know what to do

I stupidly  googled it….and now worried what it might be.  But no one in my family or ever have had cancer.

There is no lump . I cant feel it . So then am thinking … am just over thinking it .

What should I do…. its driving me mental

Hello and thanks for posting on the forum,

I am sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing on your nipple.  We would always advise anyone with new symptoms that they are worried about to get checked out by their GP.  You may find that you have an infection which may need a course of antibiotics but I can’t be sure.

Don’t overthink it all there is usually a perfectly reasonable explanation but without a medical examination no one can tell you any more.

Try not to use google as it tends to lead to more worry and will not provide an answer to your symptoms which are specific to you.

I hope that it feels better soon but in the meantime if you want to talk this through with one of the nurses on the helpline then you are more then welcome to give us a call. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Best Wishes,

Catherine

Hi Nigz,

Sorry you’re going through this, it’s always stressful when you notice something new about your body! I definitely would recommend getting in touch with your GP practice and asking to see a GP. I had a phone appt with my GP first and then she booked an in-person appt to examine me. Hopefully that can give you some peace of mind, and otherwise you’ll know it’s being looked at and you’re getting the help you need!

Take care x
