Hello and thanks for posting on this thread.

I am sorry to learn you have an ache that you are concerned about.

Many people contact us because they are concerned that symptoms they have might be caused by cancer. We are unable to diagnose you and the best advice we can give is to go and see your doctor. They are very used to being asked about all sorts of things, and will put your mind at ease.

Although this can sometimes seem frightening, in most cases your dull ache in the testicle will be caused by something else other than cancer such as an infection, or muscle strain. But it is always sensible to get any problems you have checked out to be on the safe side.

There is information about testicle problems here,

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/testicle-lumps-and-swellings/

And also information about how testicles should look and feel,

https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/mens-health/what-should-my-te…

I hope that this has been helpful.

Best wishes

Vanda

To the post on 11 July. You find out what it was. My pain started there but seem to have moved to left side of abdomen and back. Now my left testicle seems to be sensitive with intermittent pain throught those areas.

I have appointment next week with urologist.

What did they say about you.

Hello and thanks for posting,

I am sorry to hear you have this ache and lump in your testicle.

I’m afraid I am unable tell you if this is anything to be worried about or not. It really would be best for you to get this checked out by your GP. They are used to assessing this type of thing and hopefully will be able to offer you some reassurance or refer you for more tests if necessary.

Symptoms can have lots of different causes and most of the time won’t be anything serious, however when symptoms are ongoing and worrying its a good idea to see a doctor about it just to be on the safe side.

Take care,

Naomi

I decided some time ago to become a private sperm donor. As part of my perfect sperm diet, I eat lots of walnuts and fruit high in antioxidants, and exercise daily. Since I started this diet my testicles have had a life of their own. I often don’t know how to sit still. There is an intense ache but it’s not unpleasant, they move about at will, and the ache disappears after ejeculation. My need to masturbate has increased significantly. I’ve now helped 2 pregnancies in first cycle in three months with recipients who have had numerous unsuccessful donors. I don’t know if this is connected but I’ve not experienced this ache at any other time of my life and I’m over 50.

Hello and thank you for your post,

I am afraid we are not able to tell you what is causing this ache and if there is anything serious going on. The best thing to do is to go and see your GP about it.

Take care,

Caroline

I’ve had an ache in my right testical which comes and goes and has been happening for a few years, it also leads to a tight scrotum which is very very irritating and makes things in the bedroom a little annoying, i have been to Gp and urologist, my GP gave me narproxen and the hospital said i shouldn’t be taking them due to been bad for my liver….. thats good.

I have learnt from research and how more body behaves, every time i strain my back at work with lifting wtc that’s what brings the ache on in my groin, i have found that there is a nerve which come from your lower back and is connected to your testicles.

I have been having massages which doesn’t work and i thought i would contact a chiropractor to see if they had an ideas on fixing the back issue which may treat my burning pain, They have told me to visit my GP and get referred for a MRI scan, hopefully in the next few months i will get through to the doctors for an appointment 🙂

If anyone has had similiar issues please contact me, im sick of feeling like this and is really getting me down.

Hi Shane,

Thanks for posting on Cancer Chat,

I’m sorry you have been having testicular pain, and yes a burning sensation can very much be associated with nerve problems.

As your chiropractor recommended, I would persevere in getting that GP appointment. Ongoing pains are miserable to deal with, even more so when you don’t have an official reason and diagnosis.

Take care and get that check up sorted,

Sarah.

Did you ever find out the cause of this? I’ve had small lump for a year now. An ultrasound came back with nothing but the last few months it’s been aching constantly and now my back is aching. I went to the GP but they didn’t seem too concerned and kind of shrugged it off as possibly an infection.. but didn’t refer me for anything. It’s very worrying when it’s been aching for so long now. It seems worse when I bend over too.

They have told me that theres a nerve from the lower back to the testicles, it seams if you injure your back or strain it, it causes the nerve to irritate the testicles.

My pain comes and goes usually every 6 months or so

Hi

I had tescticular cancer 6 years ago and was given tests every few weeks then  months etc and now I’ve been given the all clear , I still get the odd dull aches in my remaining testical which worries me so I had it checked with scans and it’s all fine . The doctor has said it could be down to chronic pains due to the operation having the testical/rumour removed and as there will be scar tissue there , it also cud be down to nerves as I have quite bad sciatica nerve pains which is from the leg to buttock but apparently goes past the pelvic area so cud be causing the aches too . It’s frustrating and does get you down

I still get the same ****** dull ache, doctors are a waste of time, its one of 2 things, 1 caused with me straining my back at work and that putting strain on testicle or varacus veins round my tubes.

god knows lol

It is frustrating as the doctors don’t realy

know what it can be and just put it down to chronic pains which is the easy answer I think . I do think it’s something to do with the nerves as it also aches more when I’m stressed for some weird reason . It does get you down though as u know there’s something not right but keep getting told it’s clear down there etc. Load of b_llocks lol
