My sister in law (37) just recently (May 2019) experienced difficulty in swalling and went for checks and it turned out to be esophagus cancer. It’s inoperable and it had metastasized.

After number of examinations/tests, “Chemo” was started last week, mid June 2019 – which is good treatment was started but … the doctor’s view on the case is mixed and I’m trying to keep her morale as good as possible.

I am reaching out here for anyone who could help us get a second opinion on this type, I would highly appreciate it.

Hi,

Whereabouts does your sister in law live?

If you add the location to the title of the post you may be able to trigger a response. I’m pretty much up to speed about my area (NW England) but I’m pretty clueless about anywhere else.

Best wishes

Dave

Hello Dave,

Thank you very much for the response – she is based in Epsom, Surrey.

Note: I read your story in the bio and showed it to her, she really really got motivated because she thought she was the only one in this…

Hi,

That’s a good place to be as a patient as she is within easy travelling distance of London.

Good luck

Dave

Hi Hopeza,

I’m sorry that the doctor’s opinions on your sister in law’s diagnosis is mixed.

If you are unhappy with her current doctor you can find out more about getting a second opinion just here.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes to you both,

Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
