Hi

on my monthly breast check I noticed a small lump in my left breast.  Breasts have been a little tender lately.  Went to my GP today who felt the lump & said it was small & smooth.  She is certain it is a cyst.  She also noticed that a lymph node under my arm is swollen & it is sore today.  I am 37 , no history of breast cancer in family .  My mum & older sister have had breast cysts.

i am worrying it’s cancer

Hi bigfee

has your GP referred you to the breast clinic?

Hi Magpie Maggie

yes she has referred me & says it could take up to 4weeks .  She didn’t seem overly concerned.  She said the lump is very smooth & moves freely.  Both my breasts ache & the lymph node is sore.  She said that a cyst can cause infection & that’s why my node is swollen.

still very scary though & there is always that thought there.

You are in the system now so please try and calm your mind. It won’t be long before your off to the breast clinic, there they will be very thorough then another short wait for results. Try and relax and enjoy your Christmas….let us know what happens? We all understand your worry and telling you not to worry won’t make you stop…..take it a step at a time….xxxxx ps and don’t forget the chances of it being nothing are in your favour xxxx

Hi Marlyn

Yes , the GP wasn’t overly concerned .  I am guessing if it was really serious she would of put me on an urgent referral .  My mum & sister have both had cysts removed .  No history of breast cancer in the family at all.  It’s just that sinking feeling when you feel the lump!!

I know, I was diagnosed on Monday….it was surreal. But the fact your GP wasn’t overly concerned is a good sign, my GP’s face fell! So I knew something fishy was up! The odds are in your favour…keep calm and carry on……and let us know? Xxxxx
